OFSTED JUDGEMENT JUNE 2016 – GOOD
AIMS OF THE SCHOOL To provide a supportive environment with Christian values where children feel happy and secure.
To provide a broad, balanced, relevant curriculum to develop skills, knowledge, creativity and independence to equip the children to move confidently into the future and reach their full potential.
Hello and welcome to our school website. We are a thriving Church of England School in the heart of a small village in North West Norfolk. In September 2013 Harpley joined Great Massingham Church of England Primary School in a partnership. This has resulted in the schools working together to provide lots of shared learning opportunities. In September 2015 we consolidated the cooperation between the two schools and became Great Massingham and Harpley Church of England Schools Federation.
In June 2016 Ofsted judged that THIS SCHOOL CONTINUES TO BE GOOD with inspectors praising the nurturing, friendly atmosphere. The Ofsted report notes that pupils talk about their school with enthusiasm and pride and use the word ‘family’ to describe the school’s caring atmosphere. National Society Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools Report judged that through its distinctive Christian character the School is OUTSTANDING at meeting the needs of all learners. The report says pupils flourish within the supportive environment. Follow the link to read more about our school’s ethos and values.
Sport, music and ICT also have an important part to play in the life of our school and there are many opportunities for our children to take part in a variety of after-school clubs. We make the most of our sports field and outdoor areas which encourage as much outdoor play and games as the school day will allow.
At Harpley Primary, we will use our best endeavours to ensure that all children learn and progress well, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). WORDS OF WELCOME FROM REVEREND JUDITH POLLARD
Our school is a supportive, creative environment where we all aspire to be the very best we can be. Every child is encouraged to engage withe the Christian ethos of our school through daily assemblies, where diversity is valued and achievement celebrated. In our school we explore together the importance of faith and spirituality from a broadly Christian perspective, whilst also valuing and respecting other faiths and beliefs and values for life such as kindness, generosity and mutual respect. We have good links with our local church which we visit for services throughout the year. It is a privilege to be part of this motivated, inspirational school community. Reverend Judith Pollard.
